Teacher

Welcome!

My name is Marie and here are a few words about me.

I graduated from the VSB-Technical University of Ostrava, the Faculty of Mining and Geology, in Commercial Engineering in the Field of Primary Commodities. I also completed the Supplementary Pedagogical Course in Pedagogy of Special Subjects at the Pedagogical Faculty of the University of Ostrava. A part of the study was also a teaching practice at the Secondary Vocational School of Engineering in Ostrava-Hrabůvka.

I completed a one-year English language course at the Cloverleaf language school and also an intensive English language course  at the Gateway International School of English (G.I.S.O.E.) in Malta. In the past, I studied Russian, French and Spanish languages.  I have used my language skills on foreign business trips to countries, such as China, Belgium, Estonia, Poland, Germany, and France. Between my other language skills belong knowledge of Russian, Slovak and Polish.

I also completed a one-year post-secondary course "Guide Activities in Tourism". I have used these skills in planning and organizing of excursions, conferences and workshops.

From 2003 to 2012 I worked at the Rectorate of the VSB - Technical University of Ostrava and I have almost 20 years' experience in education. My agenda was also mobilities of foreign students and helping them to adapt to their study in the Czech Republic. Some of them were interested in learning Czech language, so I started giving them individual lessons.

Czech4You Language Centre, which offers Czech language lessons for foreigners, was founded in 2012. Since then, hundreds of students of all ages have passed through our doors.

I currently have students from countries such as Switzerland, Australia, Denmark, Japan, Egypt, Mexico, Canada, Venezuela, Italy, Philippines, Great Britain, France, Netherlands, Greece, Germany, Poland, Cameroon, China, South Korea, Israel, Russia, Spain, New Zealand, Belgium, Colombia and USA (Colorado, Texas, Hawaii, Iowa, California, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Georgia and Ohio).

My students are employees of foreign companies, managers, directors, teachers, architects, artists, musicians, researchers and international students.

I enjoy teaching very much because I like working with people and communicating with them. Our lessons are very interesting, because we speak about our (Czech) and their different culture and habits :-)

Here are references from my students.

My hobbies are traveling, cooking, biking, hiking, skiing and photography. I like music which sounds good (e.g. Celtic, Irish, African, Indian, Australian, modern and classical music).
